Did you know!

Wylie, TX, originally known as Nickelville, was established in the early 1870s and later renamed in honor of W.D. Wylie, a railroad right-of-way agent, when the Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe Railway reached the area in 1886. The town grew rapidly thanks to its location along two railroads and the fertile lands of the Blackland Prairies, becoming a hub for agricultural trade. An intriguing piece of Wylie’s history is its resilience during the Great Depression, as the town not only survived but grew, driven in part by increased dairy farming to meet Dallas's demands. Today, Wylie continues to thrive as a vibrant community with deep roots and a bright future.
