Did you know!

Wylie, TX, was once known as the “City of Wide Awake Wylie” due to its early reputation for being a lively town where businesses stayed open late into the night. This nickname was popular in the 1880s and 1890s, highlighting the community’s energetic spirit and bustling economy, which were driven by its railroad connections and thriving agricultural trade. While businesses don’t stay open late like they did in the 1880s, Wylie’s lively community spirit remains strong through its events, festivals, and welcoming atmosphere!
